Wood computer    This was my first time building a computer case, and the first time I actually used a lot of woodworking tools frequently. There were some slight setbacks in the design (going from 2-D drawings to 3-D is tricky!) but I approached them with a light heart and adapted successfully. I'm very proud of the fact that all materials used were second hand. A theme that fits the wooden exterior.

^ Ventilation was a concern from the beginning. I knew it needed to be an integral part of the style, and this was the result. I made an image on my computer, printed it out, taped it over the wood, and fired up the drill press. Clockwise from top-left: Bear, flamingo, buffalo, crashed plane (along the whole bottom), and a horse.

^ The internal parts came from an unused and very old computer. The motherboard mount and backplate are both pieces of an old case. No USB here!

^ The hard drive is mounted on the bottom of the support beam underneath the CD drive. The notch in the beam is for the power supply cables.

^ Installing linux!

^ This may be my favorite part, the bottom.
